2014 Speedmaster
Long, low, blacked out and mean, the Speedmaster echoes the hot-rod cruiser theme but adds a very British spin with some classic Triumph parallel twin power. Built to be an engaging entry level bike that's also ideal for riders moving to their first big bike the Speedmaster has the zest and handling to keep experienced riders happy too.

triumph-speedmaster-2014-3

Everything about it is laid back and easy. The low rider look is a classic one reflecting the style of homebuilt hot-rods on both sides of the Atlantic. But the soul of any bike is its engine. And that’s where the Speedmaster stands out even more, with an air-cooled twin that is steeped in our long and colorful heritage.

All this means you have a highly capable motorcycle that has a great feel and delivers satisfying performance every single day.
That’s what makes it such good value for money.

Specifications

2014 Triumph Speedmaster - SPECIFICATIONS

THE LOOK
The look of the Speedmaster is dominated by the 19” cast aluminium front wheel with single disc brake and ‘skinny’ tyre, giving a classic chopped hot-rod look. Emphasizing the Speedmaster’s resolutely dark attitude even further a whole host of components – from wheels to bars and headlights to foot controls – get the black treatment for 2014. Machined detailing on the engine barrel block and cylinder head cooling fins add a subtle counterpoint.

ENGINE
We decided on a mix of blacked out and chrome components to give the Speedmaster a purposeful, moody look. Especially for the black-finish engine with its machined cooling fin edges, which now run the full length of the cylinders. The retro theme continues with what look like twin carburetors and traditional air filter housing, all disguising the modern fuel injection system.

WHEELS TYRES AND MUDGUARDS
We added the skinny 19inch cast front wheel to complement the fat rear tyre on its 15inch rim and enhanced each by the cut down mudguards.

PERFORMANCE
The output peaks at a muscular 61PS and there's strong torque from low in the rev range, with a maximum of 53lb.ft at just 3300rpm. To you that means plenty of thrust at a flick of the wrist without needing to resort to the slick gear change.

PARALLEL TWIN
The Speedmaster's parallel twin is such a refreshing change with its roots in the very engines that brought us to the forefront of motorcycling during the 1950s and 1960s - the golden era of British twins.

Still very much a classic-looking Triumph engine, we have built it using modern Triumph technology, cleverly hiding it behind that traditional exterior.

We've also retained the air cooling to give you a bike that looks right but, although it seems to have twin carburetors, the Speedmaster is fueled by a modern electronic fuel injection system for high efficiency, plenty of smooth and accessible power and exceptional fuel consumption.

CONFIGURATION
The engine feels great thanks to the 270 degree crankshaft design which results in a lazy, uneven beat from the mellow exhaust note to match the easy pull of the motor. We’ve made sure that vibration levels are just enough to let you know there's an engine working hard beneath you but without intruding on your general ride or comfort.

And, inside the old-style cylinders we’ve added double overhead camshafts, eight valves and a fully integrated crankshaft, clutch and gearbox. All with a comprehensive engine management system to handle the ignition as well as fuel injection.

FUEL EFFICIENCY
The Speedmaster is laid-back and easy on the fuel too. It can manage 71.1mpg at a steady 56mph and even at 75mph you’ll be sipping fuel at 55.5mpg.

FRAME
Holding everything together and keeping it in line is our traditional-style tubular steel cradle frame with steel swingarm, using the engine as an essential component to give you exceptional rigidity for stable, sure-footed handling.

SUSPENSION
The suspension doesn't suffer for the sake of the Speedmaster's style.

We fitted high quality KYB forks and shocks with a generous 120mm travel at the front and 96mm travel at the rear, enough to cope with poor conditioned back-roads as well as maintained highways.

The shocks are preload adjustable too, so you can find the perfect balance and stance whether you’re traveling light or fully loaded with a passenger and the accessory luggage.

HANDLING
Forming the backbone of the Speedmaster’s long, low style and at the same time providing it with exceptionally easy, well-balanced handling. We’ve made a chassis for the most inexperienced riders can manage and seasoned ones can enjoy.

We raked the forks out at an extreme 33.8 degrees in true hot-rod style and kept the trail figure long at 170.4mm. We stretched the wheelbase out too at a lengthy 1606mm but because we've kept the centre of gravity low and very carefully matched the geometry, the Speedmaster still steers with that easy, engaging feel that makes even tight, low speed corners a breeze. And stability at higher speeds of course is exceptionally good.

BRAKES
We put a single 310mm disc at the front backed up by the 285mm rear disc to help maintain the bike's lean look, but together they still provide plenty of power with good feedback to make sure the Speedmaster stops as well as it goes.

RIDING POSITION
As a Speedmaster rider you adopt a relaxed position, feet well forward and hands wide apart on the pulled back bars. Sitting just 690mm from the ground the Speedmaster is very easy to manage even at walking pace. And it’s comfortable when the pace increases, so you can take in the scenery and just enjoy the ride.

It's laid-back style suits a wide range of riders and is a great choice for anyone that finds other bikes too much of a stretch to the ground.

Specifications

2014 Triumph America LT - SPECIFICATIONS

ENGINE

Striking machined fins pick out the distinctive parallel twin shape, while chrome engine covers are offset against jet-black barrels and crankcases. A pair of wide, dramatically splayed exhaust pipes dominate the LT’s front three-quarter profile with their classic ‘header-run’ following a straight line from the throttle bodies through to the headers. Our parallel twin heritage for all to see and admire.

CHASSIS

Swept-back classic styling, characterized by details such as the dramatic slab top yoke, center-mounted white-faced speedo, large single headlight, chrome tank console housing and filler cap, and hand-painted tank and mudguard coach lines.

PERFORMANCE

Built to be ridden, not just to look good. The America’s 865cc parallel-twin puts out a healthy 61PS with strong torque at low revs, peaking at 72Nm at just 3300rpm. Ideal for urban cruising at low revs but with enough muscle for serious long distances at motorway speeds, even with a passenger or luggage on board.

This vertical twin is a true original. Drawing on our heritage from fifties and sixties parallel twins and coupling that with modern technology and build standards, the engine in the America has a laid-back riding character that’s unique to the cruiser world.

CONFIGURATION

Straight away people notice the America’s unmistakably British style. Its pair of cylinders stand upright and proud and make a powerful statement. And, being air-cooled there’s no radiator to spoil the view.

SUSPENSION

With forks raked out at a shallow angle and feature polished shrouding and silver legs that match the chrome springs and covers of the laid-down, twin rear shocks. The America’s suspension works hard to provide laid-back comfort and road feedback in true cruiser style.

HANDLING

Long, low and stable like a cruiser should be.

Everything about the America’s chassis is focussed on balance and we’ve matched each component carefully to maintain that steady, intuitive feel.

As a result, it’s agile enough for an exciting ride when the road gets interesting and is more capable through the corners than most of its rivals.

It’s so well-balanced that it is ideal for inexperienced riders as well as a satisfying cruise for those with a lot of miles behind them.

BRAKES

Never too sharp or intimidating, braking is looked after by single discs front and rear to provide plenty of stopping force, whilst maintaining the overall balance of the chassis so every moment of your ride is confident and controlled.

WHEELS AND TYRES

The cast aluminium wheels are small in diameter. 16 and 15 inches front and rear and fitted with chunky, deep sidewall tyres for a classic cruiser look and a more comfortable cushioned ride.

SEAT HEIGHT

A seat height of just 690mm makes the America easy to control when gliding through traffic or parking. In fact, the set-up suits many riders that find other bikes too tall. Whatever your height though, easy positioning of the bars, seat and footrests means you’ll quickly find your most relaxed and comfortable cruising posture.

RIDING POSITION

As a pure unadulterated cruiser, your riding position should be upright, laid back and spacious. But never at the expense of comfort and sheer riding pleasure. So the America’s bars hang high and wide but are also pulled back so that the controls are closer to you. And we’ve set the footrests far enough forward for comfort, without being too much of a stretch. Putting you in firm, confident control of your bike during busy urban riding or long-distance travel.

FOOTBOARDS

High-quality aluminium foot-boards and removable skid plates come with a classic heel/toe gear shift, positioning the rider’s feet for maximum comfort and control.

SADDLEBAGS

At the back, the America LT’s generous leather panniers are showerproof and come with metal buckles over durable, easy-to-use plastic clips.

WINDSHIELD

The tall wind-shield deflects the worst of the weather and is easily detachable (via a pair of spring-loaded levers at each side of the screen) to achieve a completely alternative look.

BACK REST - SISSY BAR

We added a pillion backrest to add all day comfort for your passenger too.

Thunderbird Button

Laid back and relaxed, the Thunderbird is exactly the way a cruiser should be. But, on top of that, Triumph engineering has added superior performance and handling without ever diluting what the Thunderbird is all about.
2014-triumph-thunderbird-lt-is-a-robust-tourer-photo-gallery_1
The engine itself is unique in its class, a classic Triumph parallel twin. And the styling is pure cruiser with sweeping lines, low seat and high bars.

But like any Triumph it's highly practical too, and perfectly feasible as an everyday commuter. A long, low, fat-tyred, chromed up, everyday commuter.

Specifications

2014 Triumph Thunderbird -SPECIFICATIONS

BODYWORK

We made sure that the Thunderbird's authentic classic style lives on. With a long, low stance, fat rear tyre, teardrop tank and high bars. By keeping it pure, uncluttered, clean and elegant, with plenty of chrome, it still looks exactly how a cruiser should look.

ENGINE

The Thunderbird’s handsome engine is large enough to dominate the bikes appearance, with a sophisticated black finish contrasting with its chromed covers. Fat exhaust pipes and machined cooling fin edges add to the style, which continues even on the fuel injection throttle bodies.

INSTRUMENTS

The instruments are set into a tank-mounted chromed pod, leaving the top yoke area lean to show off the array of polished aluminium and chrome, so it looks as great to you as it does to the people watching it pass by.

POWER

The Thunderbird’s 1597cc parallel twin engine kicks out a muscular 86PS and a thumping 146Nm of torque at just 2750rpm.

LIQUID COOLED

It looks like air-cooling with its neat looking fins, but such a big, powerful engine is more efficient when cooled by liquid. That’s why our designers have discreetly placed a radiator between the frame's front down tubes.

CONFIGURATION

Full of modern engineering, we added double overhead camshafts and a crankshaft with 270 degree firing intervals, to give you an engine with authentic cruiser character. Whilst the fueling is looked after by a sequential fuel injection system and progressive throttle linkage which ensures the engine delivers its torque exactly the way you expect.

6 SPEED GEAR BOX

The transmission uses a six-speed gearbox with a tall top ratio for relaxed highway cruising and exceptional fuel efficiency.

BELT DRIVE

We’ve incorporated high tech materials in the belt and pulleys so you get a drive with an exceptionally long life even compared with other modern bikes. And almost zero maintenance requirements.

It's also smooth, quiet and helps keep the rear of the bike clean.

FRAME

We gave the Thunderbird a twin spine steel frame that's exceptionally stiff. Coupled with well-dampened suspension this gives you a plush ride and exceptionally stable, easy handling for a bike in this class.

SUSPENSION

With their 47mm diameter and 120mm of travel, the forks are carefully matched by our suspension specialists to the pair of chromed rear shocks. And, their 5-position adjustable spring preload allows you to adjust them to suit the way you want to ride.

BRAKES

We made sure that the brakes are well up to the Thunderbird's wide range of capabilities. A pair of four-piston calipers up front provide sufficient power to cope with a fully loaded bike, high speeds and mountainous terrain. You’ll find they offer loads of feedback too.

WHEELS AND TYRES

The Thunderbird gets handsome, five spoke cast alloy wheels, fitted with Metzeler tyres.

HANDLING

We built the Thunderbird to give cruiser riders a bike that handles as well as it looks.

That’s why it steers so well, especially at low speeds despite the forks being raked out at a cool-looking 32 degrees.

The Thunderbird is surprisingly agile too with enough ground clearance for decent lean angles and an engaging ride when the road gets interesting.

SEAT HEIGHT

The seat is very low at just 700mm and the cruising position is relaxed and spacious, with the footrests positioned forward to keep you comfortable without being too much of a stretch.

The low seat also means that it's easy to plant both feet firmly on the ground. So no matter what your height is, you can confidently maneuver even at low speeds.

RIDING POSITION

As you’d expect, the bars are pulled back and wide, so the grips are exactly where you want them. Giving you a relaxed stance and the high levels of control you want on a bike of this size.

IMMOBILISER

Just in case your Thunderbird attracts the wrong kind of attention, we’ve added a high technology security system. It detects a microchip in the key body and if it's not present the ignition system is disabled.

This prevents a copy of the correct key being used to switch the bike on.

INSTRUMENTS AND COMPUTER

We know you might spend a lot of time on your Thunderbird so we’ve included high levels of equipment. An on-board computer in the tank-mounted instrument pod which includes a clock, range to empty, twin trip meters and a fuel gauge. As well as a neat, compact rev counter and electronic self canceling indicators. Everything’s right where you need it.

TANK RANGE

On a big bike like this we were able to fit a 22 litre tank. So, along with the high efficiency engine, the Thunderbird has an exceptional fuel range, at 56mph the Thunderbird will give you more than 67mpg. In fact, it’s easily capable of more than 200 miles between refueling stops.

ABS

We fit ABS to the Thunderbird as standard. So it never loses it’s cool.

Warranty & Service

Our confidence provides you with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty on your new Triumph and Genuine Accessories. Alongside the knowledge that we give you a 12 month unlimited mileage warranty on replacement parts.

2012-Triumph-ThunderbirdStorme

Specifications

2014 Triumph Thunderbird Storm - SPECIFICATIONS

Less chrome, more power and more attitude. The Thunderbird Storm comes with a 1700cc engine and hard-edged style. Based on our original Thunderbird, the Storm keeps the pure Triumph twinned headlights but adds a low, blacked out look that's mean and minimalist for massive street presence backed up by huge torque and confident handling.

We squeezed 102cc more from the muscle-bound parallel twin engine so that it packs an even bigger punch. Still laid-back but underpinned by serious power and the best handling in the class. This is a cruiser with a dark side.

Performance
We took the 1597cc parallel twin from the Thunderbird and boosted its capacity to 1699cc with 3.3mm bigger pistons in huge, 107.1mm bores. So the Thunderbird Storm does have a classic-looking engine that packs a mighty punch, but that power is delivered smoothly thanks to twin balance shafts.

The result of the Thunderbird Storm’s bigger engine is more power at 98PS. And an even higher peak torque at 115lb.ft right down at 2,950rpm with more torque across the rev range. So it delivers instant thrust when you twist the throttle, even at very low rpm.

Configuration
Despite the air-cooled appearance, the Thunderbird Storm engine is liquid-cooled. We placed its radiator unobtrusively between the frame down-tubes and the fat, twin exhaust headers.

And there's plenty more 21st century technology tucked away too, like our highly accurate sequential fuel injection system with its progressive throttle linkage so you get power predictably and smoothly.

We added double overhead camshafts and a crankshaft with 270 degree firing intervals, to give you an engine with authentic cruiser character. Whilst the fueling is looked after by a sequential fuel injection system and progressive throttle linkage so your engine delivers its torque exactly the way you expect.

Blacked Out
The Thunderbird Storm has a big black engine with upright cylinders and machined cooling fin edges to help define its imposing shape.
Many other parts of the Thunderbird Storm are black. Including the rear springs and headlight bowls.

Belt Drive
The final drive is an inverted tooth belt with carbon fibre strands to give it a higher tensile strength than steel. While the pulleys have a patented ultra-hard coating that minimizes wear so that the whole belt drive system needs very little attention. It's really quiet and clean too.

6 Speed Gear Box
The transmission uses a six-speed gearbox with a tall top ratio for relaxed highway cruising and exceptional fuel efficiency.

Fuel efficiency
We gave the Thunderbird Storm double overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder, along with a very tall top ratio in the six-speed transmission for a great ride and to help the fuel economy. Even at 75mph you get almost 50mpg, as good as some commuter bikes.

SUSPENSION

We gave the Thunderbird Storm fat 47mm diameter forks with plenty of travel at 120mm. And the rear shocks are adjustable for spring preload so you can set the bike up to suit your load or riding style.

HANDLING

We used all of our engineering expertise in making the geometry just right, so the Thunderbird Storm steers as great as it looks. Even at low speeds. And it has to be extremely stable when going faster, yet amazingly agile when you ask it to change direction rapidly. So you get a bike that’s responsive, even in the tight, low speed maneuvers that some cruisers make hard work of.

BRAKES

We wanted plenty of stopping power to match the engine on the Thunderbird Storm. So you get a pair of four-piston calipers at the front to scrub off speed in an instant and give great feedback, backed up by ABS as standard.

RIDING POSITION

You get a feeling of control on the Thunderbird Storm, with forward-sited footrests and controls and wide, pulled-back bars for a spacious, comfortable riding position. Comfortable enough for much more than a quick trip into town or a Sunday spin.

And, even though the passenger seat detaches to enhance the lean looks of the bike when riding solo, it's still comfortable and relaxed enough for a pillion. The high quality suspension being more than enough to keep the ride plush and stable even when there are two people on board.

SEAT HEIGHT

With a seat just 700mm from the ground, you’ll find the Thunderbird Storm very accessible for such a big bike.

FRAME

We built the twin spine, steel tube frame of the Thunderbird Storm to be exceptionally stiff. Then we reinforced it with the engine itself, making it a stressed component of the chassis for even more agility.

WHEELS AND TYRES

We’ve fitted Metzler tyres to five-spoke cast aluminium wheels that, not only look the part in their black finish, but are light for sharper handling.

Tyres are fat with a wide 200 section dominating the rear view and are mounted on modern five-spoke alloy wheels - black finished, of course.

ABS

We fit ABS to the Thunderbird Storm as standard. So it never loses it’s cool.

INSTRUMENTS AND COMPUTER

It looks lean and mean but the Thunderbird Storm has loads of equipment.

You get an on-board computer with a clock, twin trip meters and a fuel gauge, along with a neat, compact rev counter and electronic self canceling indicators.

TANK RANGE

Typical Triumph fuel efficiency and a 22 litre tank means you can cover more than 200 miles between refills. Not bad for any bike, let alone a cruiser.

Rocket III Roadster
The Rocket uses torque-driven performance with its 2.3 litre, three-cylinder engine designed to be a thrill to ride, yet easy and unintimidating too, despite its thunderous roar. Find out more & submit a test ride request today.

With the world’s biggest production motorcycle engine the latest Rocket III Roadster builds on the huge performance of the original Rocket III but now with even more torque.

Rocket III A

The 2.3 litre, three-cylinder engine is designed to be an arm-wrenching thrill to ride, yet easy and unintimidating too, despite its thunderous roar. Its sweet handling chassis, rigid frame and sophisticated suspension gives you the confidence to sweep through corners and change direction with an agility that belies this Roadsters size.

The latest Rocket III features blackened components including radiator cowls, rear mudguard rails, air box cover, fork protectors, and mirrors giving our Roadster an even more menacing look.

There's nothing else like it out there, not to look at, nor to ride.

Specifications

2014 Triumph Rocket III Roadster - SPECIFICATIONS

PERFORMANCE

The capacity of the Rocket III Roadster is huge, 2,294cc, and with a gut churning 221Nm at just 2,750rpm it has more torque at idle than most super-bikes at full chat!

The latest engine is unrestricted thereby delivering its full strength in the first three gears giving it almighty punch.

CONFIGURATION

The three big cylinders are arranged lengthways along the bike to keep it manageably narrow and align the crankshaft with the shaft final drive, but to tame the reaction of the massive torque, the crankshaft counter-rotates so the bike stays steady when the throttle’s blipped.

SHAFT DRIVE

With a shaft drive that needs no maintenance outside the scheduled service intervals, you have a roadster that’s so reliable, durable and engaging that you could even go touring on it.

FRAME

We developed the big, tubular steel twin spine design to be strong and rigid enough to contain this powerhouse of a motor. But we focused on giving you an improbable level of agility too.

SUSPENSION

We gave the front end sports-bike-style upside down forks 43mm in diameter so they’re strong enough to cope with all the forces a bike like this can deal out, yet with sophisticated internals so you get a plush, controlled ride.

WHEELS AND TYRES

The rear wheel diameter on the Rocket III is 16 inches to emphasize the fatness of the back tyre but to give you a more agile bike too.

BRAKES

A bike like this needs a pair of vice-like, four-piston calipers. Gripping the 320mm discs and backed up by our advanced ABS system and a huge 316mm disc at the rear.

HANDLING

What our design and testing teams have managed to achieve is a massive bike with genuine handling prowess. Giving you low speed balance and beautifully neutral steering so when you’re faced with a twisty road you can be filled with anticipation and confidence.

RIDING POSITION

It's your stance that really separates the ride on a Rocket III Roadster from the Rocket III Touring.

We put the Roadster footrests back to a mid position and the seat forward. Sitting you upright and active for better control. Spacious and comfortable enough to cover distances and cruising, especially with a seat this plush and generously sized.

And, despite the bike's width, it's still slender in the middle so your legs aren't splayed apart uncomfortably. The Rocket III Roadster might be larger than life, but it's still designed to fit.

ABS

The advanced ABS brakes on the Rocket III Roaster are fitted as standard. This is a massive bike that comes with huge amounts of control.

INSTRUMENTS AND COMPUTER

This is a premium flagship motorcycle so we equipped it accordingly.

All the instruments are all there for you, fuel gauge, gear indicator, dual trip and clock in addition to the basic functions. Then there’s the signature massive twin headlights making a powerful style statement and lighting up the road ahead at night for safer riding.

Warranty & Service

Our confidence provides you with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty on your new Triumph and Genuine Accessories. Alongside the knowledge that we give you a 12 month unlimited mileage warranty on replacement parts.

The Rocket III Roadster carries 16,000km service intervals.

Engineered to be responsive, agile and deceptively easy to turn, even at low speeds, the Commander marries tuned geometry with a low centre of gravity to make it steer as beautifully as it looks.

FRAME

A dynamic engine with dynamic styling demands an equally dynamic chassis; one which reflects our belief that every bike, whatever its style, should be agile yet stable, have predictable, neutral steering and superior suspension and brakes. The Thunderbird Commander is no exception to that rule.

Fat-section 140/75 17-inch front and 200/50 17-inch rear tyres running on diamond-turned cast wheels.

The Commander’s handling is further enhanced by a chassis specification worthy of sportier bikes. It features shrouded 47mm Showa forks, twin 5-way preload adjustable Showa rear shocks, with optimized dual-rate springs, keeping you isolated from bumps but in touch with the road.

Dual four-pot Nissan calipers on 310mm floating discs up front and a single Brembo caliper and 310mm disc at the rear, in conjunction with latest generation Triumph ABS, provide efficient performance and effortless braking control.

HANDLING

From the moment you roll forward on the Thunderbird Commander, you’ll notice that handling control is a priority, not an afterthought. FOOTBOARDS

The Thunderbird Commander gives you high quality foot-boards made from chromed high-pressure die-cast aluminium, featuring replaceable skid plates and an adjustable heel/toe gear lever.

The Thunderbird LT remains true to our core value of outstanding handling in all situations. As the result of careful development work on its steering geometry, the LT is no exception and delivers light, neutral steering, low speed agility, yet maintains stability at all speeds and in all types of conditions. Combined with a great degree of manageability, it’s an easy bike to ride for any rider.

WHEELS AND TYRES

Our engineers turned to British tyre manufacturer Avon with whom we jointly developed the World’s first and only white-wall radial for the dramatic look of fat-section 150/80 16-inch front and 180/70 16-inch rear tyres on wire 56-spoked rims.

FRAME

A dynamic engine with dynamic styling demands an equally dynamic chassis; one which reflects our belief that every bike, whatever its style, should be agile yet stable, have predictable, neutral steering and superior suspension and brakes. The Thunderbird LT is no exception to that rule.

FOOTBOARDS

The high quality rider and pillion foot-boards are made from chrome-plated, high-pressure die-cast aluminium, featuring replaceable skid plates and an adjustable heel/toe gear lever for the rider.

ABS

Triumph’s anti-lock brake system comes as standard. and the ABS-assisted brakes ensure stopping is quick and efficient.

SEAT

Rider and pillion seat foam is a double-layer, dual-density material, soft and receptive on first feel but compressing to give a firmer, supportive yet pliant ride. The rider’s seat has also been especially shaped with wide, flared sides and a lumbar support to provide maximum comfort even at the end of a long day’s ride. The cover material contains a degree of elasticity so that it ‘gives’ as the seat compresses, maintaining the ideal shape and reducing uncomfortable pressure points.

TANK

A massive 22 litres fuel tank with off-centre filler cap.

INSTRUMENTS

Tank-mounted dash console including classic analogue-style speedometer, a fuel gauge and an LCD with range-to-empty, twin trips, odometer and clock functions, conveniently scrollable via a handlebar-mounted button.
